Four Bases of Fun

Hit a home run with the whole family at Nationals Park

Peanuts, cracker jacks, foul balls (and gloves to catch them), strikeouts, home runs. There are plenty of reasons to see a baseball game with your little ones, but Nationals Park and its festivities and promotions make a trip to the stadium a truly special experience. The summer sun is calling and the kids are restless, so get the family out to a game and you’ll be a big league hero.

First Base
Before your kids can enjoy Nationals Park, you’ll have to lock down tickets. To view the schedule and check out the latest promotions and giveaways, visit nationals.com/tickets. A variety of specials are available as well, including Harris Teeter Family Fun Packs each Saturday and Sunday home game. Starting at just $19, each Family Fun Pack includes a ticket, hot dog, chips and a drink. Visit nationals.com/family for more details.

Following Sunday home games, all children ages 4–12 are welcomed down onto the Major League diamond for Kids Run the Bases. Unfortunately, big kids (aka adults) will have to practice their home run trots at home.

Second Base
Ballparks have often been referred to as cathedrals, and the state-of-the-art Nationals Park is no exception. You can tour this wonder with the family in tow on both gamedays and non-gamedays. Gameday visitors get an up close and personal look at the press box, the visiting team dugout, a luxury suite and more. Non-gameday tours also include a trip to the Nationals dugout, the visitors’ clubhouse (subject to availability) and the chance to throw a pitch in the Nationals bullpen. Go to nationals.com/tours to schedule a tour.

Third Base
The Jr. Nationals Kids Club, presented by Harris Teeter, provides yet another way for kids to engage with the park, the wonderful game of baseball and even their favorite players. A $20 MVP Membership gets your little slugger a kit featuring a Screech cap (team’s eagle mascot), Nationals shoelaces, free meal coupons, a buy one-get one ticket offer and special meet and greet opportunities. Kids Club members also benefit from an exclusive line for the Kids Run the Bases experience. Go all the way with this fantastic offer that will pay dividends all season long. Visit nationals.com/jrnats to join today.

Home Plate
Nothing beats nabbing an autograph from one of your favorite baseball players, and then watching them excel on the field. Signature Sundays at Nationals Park, presented by New Era, give kids this chance. Every Sunday home game, two Nats will sign autographs at the top of the Nationals dugout starting one hour and 10 minutes before first pitch. In order to be there, you’ll need to obtain a free voucher, available at first gates (two hours, 30 minutes before first pitch). They’re handed out on a first-come, first-served basis at Sections 109 and 142 and are limited, so you will need to arrive early and hustle for your chance at this opportunity!
